About Cherry Partners.

Cherry Partners was established in 2023 as a joint venture of four local cherry orchards in the Central Otago region to pack their fruit for domestic and export markets. Cherry Partners has since evolved and now offers contract packing services to other cherry growers.

Built in 2022, it’s one of the largest cherry packhouses in Central Otago and employs some of the latest, state-of-the-art technologies to selectively grade and pack the highest quality fruit. The focus of Cherry Partners is in meeting all quality and market specifications whilst maximising returns to its orchard partners.

During the packing season from December through to early February, the business employs 60-70 people receiving, grading and packing cherries, ensuring the packhouse meets the stringent compliance and quality standards required of New Zealand fruit exporters, and then dispatches the packed fruit to markets around the world.

Central Otago cherries are some of the most highly prized and sought after cherries in the world. The industry holds an enviable position, achieving higher prices than most other cherry growing countries, due to the size, sweetness and colour of the cherries grown in the region.
It’s imperative that the packing service provided by Cherry Partners reflects the quality position of New Zealand and Central Otago cherries in global markets. The team at the packhouse work closely with their orchard partners, hosting them and their customers and making sure it meets the needs of their buyers.

MPI Approved.

Cherry Partners is an MPI approved organisation and will be audited for Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification in December 2024. SQF certification is recognised by trade customers around the world and further reinforces our commitment to deliver high quality processes for our growers.
